Stem Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine Clinics in Indianapolis, IN
Three of the four practices on this page are north of downtown, in Carmel, Westfield and Fishers. They range from an academic sports surgeon to a Regenexx-trained osteopathic physician and a regenerative group with sites in several states. Indiana’s medical licensing board is the state check here. For the product itself, the federal answer holds throughout the metro: FDA has approved no stem cell product for a joint, and the labels on these services should prompt questions.

Bryan M. Saltzman, MD
Dr. Saltzman’s site calls him IU’s Division Chief of Sports Medicine Surgery in a quote from media coverage. His orthobiologics page explains PRP, marrow concentrate from the pelvic bone and fat tissue, and describes amniotic tissue products and donor cartilage. It says orthobiologics “may be obtained from your own body or from a donor,” so the first thing to establish is which you would receive. From December 2026, the site says, he will also see patients at a Fishers office.

Where the Federal Line Falls
FDA’s consumer notice says unapproved regenerative products include those from your own body or a donor’s, including amniotic fluid and cord blood, and that none is approved for an orthopedic condition. FDA’s guidance keeps marrow outside its tissue rules only when minimally manipulated and used for its normal function, treats PRP as a blood product, and says isolating cells from fat generally goes beyond minimal manipulation. Products regulated as biologics need an approved license for lawful marketing. This page does not classify any specific product.
Evidence and Guidelines
A 2023 Nature Medicine trial, with 480 randomized knee patients (440 analyzed), found no cell preparation better than cortisone at one year. The American College of Rheumatology’s 2026 recommendations strongly recommend against PRP and stem cell injections in the knee and hip, while the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons’ 2021 guideline rates PRP “Limited.” Shoulder and tendon decisions fall outside that trial, so ask what evidence applies.
Indiana License Check
The Medical Licensing Board of Indiana, through the state’s Professional Licensing Agency, licenses physicians; look up the person who will treat you. A training company’s summary found no Indiana notice or consent law specific to these therapies as of September 2026, but a board can tell you more. Ask each office for a written fee.
We drew these details from the practices’ own websites in November 2026; a quick call will confirm they remain accurate. Being listed is not an endorsement, there is no ranking here, and this page is not medical advice. FDA has received reports of blindness, tumors and infections from unapproved regenerative products.
